The latest Made in the Midlands breakfast event was hosted by Lutterworth Ecolighting at one of Amazon’s main UK distribution centres at Rugeley, Staffordshire.

Ecolighting offer a versatile product range using the latest LED technology, creating bespoke solutions for any number of applications. They are a Carbon Trust Accredited Supplier, assessed to BS EN ISO 9001:2008 and also members of the Lighting Industry Association. All this means they are fully committed to offering exceptional service, quality, technology and value.

Over 40 representatives of the Midlands manufacturing sector attended Amazon’s premises to see Lutterworth’s LED lighting. Managing Director of Lutterworth, Martin Needham stated: “I think it's been an extremely successful event. I think the feedback we have had so far has been absolutely brilliant and combining the event with Amazon has made it really interesting for everybody.

“I think it makes it far more user interactive, they are not just seeing some offices as that is a little boring. They can see the implementation, where it goes and can also come and see a supplier like Amazon.”

Ecolighting will manage the whole process for you from concept to completion. We understand every step of the process, meaning that our designers and our manufacturing facility work in harmony to achieve the best in lighting solutions.

Amazon’s PR Specialist, Joanne Wilkinson-Hughes stated: “We take our local stakeholder programme really seriously, we love the idea of engaging not just with businesses, we also do a lot of work engaging with schools and charities.

“It’s really important for us to love our neighbours, we have big buildings in the area, so it is important to relate to these businesses. We can also be strong in inspiring them in their own working practices and what they can do to develop. I think in terms of being with Amazon, there are so many ventures for businesses to work with us, whether it is selling on Amazon, becoming a vendor or supplying to us or with us.”

Lutterworth’s design department uses the latest software for product design and lighting layouts. We produce clear and accurate bespoke lighting schemes which focus on where light is needed the most and reduce waste.

Needham concluded: “I think these events are really important for MIM. Its an excellent idea and is a good chance to get people together. It's not just us having to showcase ourselves, all of the attendees can showcase themselves and make a connection with people in the industry with the aim of doing future business with them.”

Our next breakfast event will take place at Star Micronics GB in Derby, Derbyshire. With a state of the art technology centre in Derbyshire and a team of the best turning applications engineers in the UK, Star’s machines offer you accuracy, repeatability, reliability and lower cycle times on turned parts – guaranteed!
